Types of Malware viruses

WHAT IS MALWARE

Viruses, worms, Trojans and Bots are parting of a class of software known as malware. Malware itself is short for Malicious Code which is a malicious software.

Is a code or software specifically designed to interfere with, damage, steal or give other negative impacts on data or networks, in short the user's computer.

Some of the most common types of malware are viruses, worms, Trojans, and bots. The way it is spread is different, but it is usually installed through user actions such as via email, files on the USB, files from the Internet and the like.

You also need to know that Malware cannot provide damage to hardware or network equipment, only to the data and software in the equipment. Malware cannot be equated with software that is full of bugs. Now that you understand malware, you can see more clearly the definition of each of this malware.

TYPES AND TYPES OF MALWARE.

The two most common types of malware are viruses and worms, these two types can replicate (replicate) and spread themselves, even the shapes can be different. To be classified as a virus or worm, malware must have the ability to replicate itself. The difference is that worms are more independent while viruses are very dependent on the file or program they are in (host file). Following is clear definitions, and other types of malware definitions.

VIRUS

A virus is a type of malware that can duplicate itself by entering a copy of itself as part of another program. Can spread from one computer to another, leaving a dangerous trail. The spread of this virus usually uses network, file sharing, e-mail or USB.

Almost all viruses run together with executable files, which means the virus cannot be active if the user does not run or open the dangerous file or program.

WORM

Worms are similar to viruses, where they replicate themselves and cause the same type of damage. The difference is that if the virus is spread depended on the file or malicious program where it is, the worm does not. A worm is a software that stands alone, and does not depend on other programs or files.

Spreading the worm is by looking for weaknesses of the system or making a password so that the user runs it. The worm then enters the computer through the weaknesses of the system and takes advantage of the transfer of files or information in the system, allowing it to spread independently.

TROJAN

Trojans are another type of malware whose name follows the name of the Greek wooden bar when they enter Troy. Is a piece of malicious software that looks legal or not harmful, this is what deceives the user to run it. After running, it can cause several attacks, such as annoying (opening a new window continuously) or damaging the computer (deleting files, stealing data or activating other malware).

Usually the main purpose of a Trojan is to give way to other users to access the system. Unlike viruses and worms, Trojans cannot replicate themselves, they only spread through user interactions such as e-mail or files on the Internet.

BOT

Obtained from the word robot which is an automatic process that interacts with a other network services. Bots can be used for good or evil purposes. If it is used for a malicious purpose, a bot can work like a worm where it copies itself and infects computers, the difference is that it waits for orders from the bot maker to do its work. Like getting financial information, DOS attacks, Spam and so on.

TIPS TO OVERCOME MALWARE.

The first step is to make sure your antivirus is the latest. This is usually the most effective way to deal with malware attacks and other harmful things. In addition, you can also ensure that your antivirus will check the files and e-mails that you download from the Internet.

Next is to make your OS or operating system the newest one. Usually, the latest OS will have several improvements that prevent possible worm attacks that are look for system weaknesses.
